From hand-cutting dovetails in vocational school to managing engineering departments for multi-million dollar firms, I have vast experience in all facets of the industry.
My core strength is engineering. This includes highly detailed luxury residential and commercial drawings to complex fabrication modeling and CNC programming.
Knowing when to leverage technology and when to rely on classical woodworking methodology is critical during the engineering and project development process. My experience in both allows me to make sound and workable solutions that satisfy the design while incorporating best practices through fabrication.
This has allowed me to lead engineering teams from five to fifteen people, whether it's in a singular office, multi-site corporations or fully remote engineers. My focus from a leadership perspective involves education, one-on-one training and providing clear and consistent structure.
I also aid estimating teams during the pricing phase of a project to ensure costs are covered based on what we need and want to do. I've helped develop company estimating templates as well as estimated projects myself up to $4MM.
"Woodworking Network's 40 Under 40 award celebrates industry professionals who are making an impact at their jobs, in the community, and on the North American wood products manufacturing industry. Through innovation, motivation or inspiration, honorees are contributing in the areas of productivity, profitability, social good (locally or globally), ingenuity, innovation, peer inspiration, product development, organizational leadership, or another facet."
In 2016, I was recognized as one of the industries 40 Under 40 for leading teams in the use of digital fabrication and advanced CNC programming, including pioneering the use of point cloud technology in the industry.
I have authored several articles for publications, including two for LiDAR Magazine regarding my use of point cloud technology with select projects.
Volume 4 Issue 2 Feature Article
"At UMASS, Point Clouds Keep a Job on Track" discuses how this technology can aid in ensuring a project stays on schedule by providing data used to coordinate multiple trades.
Volume 4 Issue 5 Feature Article
"Scanning From Coast To Coast" discuses the use of point cloud scanning of a project on the opposite side of the country from where it was fabricated.
